Funding for our children's book called "A New Look at 1864" was announced last week by the PEI 2014 Fund.

Island author Deidre Kessler and illustrator Brenda Jones are teaming up to tell the story of Confederation with an interesting twist. We will hear and see the story of the 1864 circus, Confederation meetings and the social gatherings that followed from the point of view of a team of horses in a livery stable on Great George Street and the children who are their caretakers. The children will meet up with another child on his way to play in the band in the grand ballroom who is none other than Robert Harris.

Students in grade 3 Island wide will receive a copy of the book in 2014.
