We are looking for volunteer tutors
Need a Tutor?
About the Program
Phase 1 (May - July) - Each year, the Alliance will promote the program by delivering face-to-face presentations to community groups across PEI. It will also promote the program through media, online and through our member networks, such as Holland College, Career Development Services and the PEI Public Library Service.
Phase 2 (May - August) - Each year, the Alliance will recruit 10 volunteer tutors (adults 50+) and 10 adults in need of tutoring.
Phase 3 (October) - Each year, 10 volunteer tutors will receive professional development and orientation.
Phase 4 (October) - Each year 10 volunteer tutors (adults 50+) will be matched with 10 adult learners. The Alliance will facilitate and support this matching process. Tutoring sessions will begin at this time and continue throughout the fall and winter.
Phase 5 (March) - Each year, program evaluation and adult learner assessments will be performed.
