Strategic planning is a way of thinking; an attitude. It allows for the development of directions and priorities. It is a process that enables strategic assessment through:

  • environmental scanning
  • visioning future options
  • assessing policies and programs

Strategic planning is a means of managing and coordinating an initiative - in this case, family literacy.
