Family Literacy

Family Literacy Day Celebration - annual event
Each year in January we host a family literacy day celebration where over 300 parents and children visit to take in live music, entertainment, crafts, a scavenger hunt and lots more fun activities. We partner with many community groups as well as the Confederation Centre Art Gallery.

Sharing Our Gifts - a publication for parents
We developed a guide for parents that explains how to use scrapbooking as a literacy tool for their family. We also created a facilitator's guide for community groups that want to host family literacy workshops for parents using this scrapbooking idea.

Treasures to Find- This is a magical picture book to inspire children and their caregivers.

Book Bank

We installed a bookcase at the Upper Room Food Bank in Charlottetown in February 2012. We collect gently used children’s books and restock the bookcase every week. Children are invited to take a book home when they visit the Food Bank with their parents. Watch our short video about the Book Bank by clicking here.
