Summer Tutoring Program for Kids

The Summer Tutoring Program for Kids
helps close to 800 students every summer.

About the Summer
Tutoring Program

Each year, we hire tutors to work one-on-one with students in libraries across the Island. Last year, our tutors worked with approximately 800 students.

The Program is offered during July and August. This program is for children in grades K to 6 who have difficulties with reading, writing and math. The program is 8-weeks long and each child receives 1-hour of tutoring per week.

Students must be referred by a resource teacher. We do not accept referrals from parents.

Goal of the Program

The program is designed to be fun and engaging and is free of charge. Our hope is that students will maintain or improve their skills over the summer months. We work with resource teachers to identify children who would benefit most from the program.
